On August 21, 2017, Webster University was a prime location to watch the solar eclipse. The university invited the community to enjoy lectures, kids educational activities and to view the view the eclipse with free eclipse glasses.This once-in-a-lifetime event was hosted by the Department of Biological Sciences as they transition into the new state of the art Browning Hall, Interdisciplinary Science Building.Skywatchers and enthusiasts in the continental US had the opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse. Along the path of totality (total darkness) from Oregon to South Carolina, St Louis (and Webster Groves area) was one of the few locations that can experience the total eclipse.
